Why Funance
Most finance apps tell you
what you already know
You spent $400 on coffee. You know. The question Funance answers is the one that actually matters: what should you do about it?
Built for Australian households
Not a US app with the dollar sign swapped. Every calculation is built around the rules Australians actually live under.
- ATO brackets, LITO, Medicare levy, HECS
- Stamp duty per state, first home buyer concessions
- ABS capital city property price data
A planner, not a tracker
No bank linking, no transaction feeds. You enter your real numbers and Funance does the heavy thinking.
- Debt avalanche and snowball strategy
- Mortgage, offset and refinance scenarios
- Super and retirement projections
Your data stays yours
Subscription-funded, so you are the customer rather than the product. No lead generation, no ads, ever.
- Free accounts never leave your browser
- Pro syncs via Sydney, encrypted in transit and at rest
- Never sold, never shared, never analysed individually

On your phone
Tick off bills in
about ten seconds
Full planning depth belongs on a laptop. Paying the water bill does not. Funance on a phone opens straight into a simplified view: what's still owing, what's overdue, and one tap to mark it paid.
- Overdue bills flagged automatically
- Add an expense in three fields
- Switch to the full view whenever you want
Compare
Funance vs
the alternatives
Most apps sit in one of two camps: international generalists, or Australian fintechs monetised through lead generation. Funance is neither.

* Frollo and WeMoney are free at the surface but monetise through lead generation, credit-score upsells and B2B data partnerships. Comparison reflects publicly listed features at time of writing. If you specifically want automated bank feeds, one of the trackers will suit you better than Funance.
Early users
What people say
after the first month
From the friends and family launch.
"The avalanche calculator showed us we'd been paying things off in the wrong order for years. Seeing the two strategies side by side with our own numbers was the moment it clicked."
"I assumed my card's annual fee was justified by the lounge access. Funance broke down what I was actually using against what I was paying. I cancelled the card that week."
"The Advice tab pointed me to carry-forward super contributions I had no idea existed. I took it to my accountant and she confirmed it. That one thing paid for the subscription many times over."
Built independently in Melbourne
Funance is built and run by an Australian household, for Australian households. No venture capital, no B2B data deals, no plans to sell anything to a bank. Subscription revenue is the only revenue, which means the roadmap answers to the people paying for it and nobody else. We're growing deliberately with a small group of users who shape what gets built next.

FAQ
Common questions
Is Funance really free?
Yes. The Free plan gives you the Overview, Budget and Debts tabs, running entirely in your browser, with no card required, ever. Pro ($9.90/month or $79/year) unlocks the remaining eight tabs plus cloud sync across devices.
Does Funance connect to my bank?
No, and that's deliberate. Funance is a planning and analysis tool, not a transaction tracker. You enter your numbers, which means no bank credentials shared, no open banking consent, and no exposure to credential leaks. If you specifically want automated transaction feeds, PocketSmith or Frollo suit that job better than we do.
Does Funance handle Australian tax properly?
Yes. The tax engine uses 2026-27 ATO brackets with Low Income Tax Offset phase-outs, full Medicare levy modelling including the phase-in band, per-partner calculations for couples, and net pay in both monthly and fortnightly terms. It's an estimate built from the published rules for planning purposes, not tax advice.
Is my data secure?
Free accounts store everything locally in your browser, so the data never leaves your device. Pro accounts sync via Supabase hosted in Sydney, encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell, share or analyse individual user data, and we never show ads. Funance is funded by subscriptions alone.
How is Funance different from PocketSmith, Frollo or WeMoney?
PocketSmith is a New Zealand-built international generalist focused on transaction tracking and forecasting. Frollo and WeMoney are Australian fintechs monetised through lead generation, credit-score upsells and B2B data partnerships. Funance is subscription-funded and built specifically for Australian household planning, with deeper modelling of ATO tax, mortgage scenarios, ABS property data and Australian credit cards.
What about superannuation?
Super sits in the Assets tab with growth projections at one, three, five and ten-year horizons. The recommendations engine flags concessional carry-forward opportunities, salary-sacrifice optimisation and retirement on-track checks, based on your actual balance and contribution rate against your target retirement age.
Can I use Funance for property investment?
Yes. The Assets tab tracks investment property with separate growth projection, and Goals includes a dedicated Investment Property type with stamp duty, LMI and deposit calculators. ABS capital city price index data lets you sanity-check your growth assumptions against published market data.
Is there a mobile app?
Funance is a responsive web app that works in any modern browser on phone, tablet or desktop, including a simplified mobile budget view built for quick expense entry and ticking off bills. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap. Pro cloud sync means your data follows you across devices.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro subscriptions cancel anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal, with no contracts and no exit fees. You keep access until the end of your billing period, and your data stays accessible locally on the Free plan.
Who built Funance?
Funance is built and run independently in Melbourne, Australia. We're not venture-backed, not B2B-funded and not part of a larger fintech group. Subscription revenue is the only revenue.
